Does anyone else feel like this is entirely getting out of hand?

I’m far from a Covid denier, I’m vaccinated and I would urge anyone who wishes to, to also get vaccinated.

But I can no longer cope. The effect this is having on people’s mental health and livelihood is enough.

It seems like a carrot dangling ‘just 3 weeks’, ‘just until the R rate drops’, ‘just until the vaccine is rolled out’.

We can’t carry on like this. We have to learn to live with the virus.

Yes we have to learn to live with the virus. Unfortunately that means dealing with how it has changed things in an ongoing way for now.

We can't ignore the virus, so we are stuck with things being impacted.

Yeah adapting to fast changing guidance and circumstances is what living with the virus means. There isn't an easy fix for a virus like this.

It's shit tho I hear you. 145 thousand dead just in this country. Fucking grim days. I've been through all sorts of thinking with it, just trying to put one foot in front of the other now, anything else makes me crazy, makes us all crazy because viruses do what viruses do.

LittleBitOLove · 04/12/2021 02:41

I’m sorry but I’m sat at home worried for my mental health as the restrictions that are inevitably coming are going to once again impact my life in a way that I don’t want.

We have all done what we can do for the past 2 years. I don’t want to suck it up and deal with things being impacted.

You got people around you? It's better if you have, worse if you don't.

I hear what you mean but it’s been proven time and time again that the guidance we all adhere to is constantly being broken by the people in charge.

The restrictions clearly aren’t affecting them in the way it’s affecting the people they’re putting them on.

I hear you, OP.
The whole not knowing is what is getting to me. It is hard to plan for anything... and having plans is what keeps me well mentally.

Batshaver · 04/12/2021 03:07

Oh politicians never keep to rules. Duck islands and hundred thousand pounds consultancies for that lot. Fuck em. We can still do our best for the people around us. Just take our pleasures when we can within that. See as much of your friends as you can for now and, I guess, hope that you don't lose anyone over winter.

As selfish as it sounds I am glad others feel the same I could just cry
