Is the rule of 11 year + children testing twice weekly still in place? If so, is it a rule or personal choice?

I dont think its compulsory but is advised to test twice a week

autumnboys · 03/12/2021 18:25

I don’t think it was ever a rule, but it is certainly advised.

Iggly · 03/12/2021 18:26

Advisory. We do it more often as covid is rife!

debbs77 · 03/12/2021 18:28

That's what I thought.

Thank you

Advisory only, but it picked up our son's completely asymptomatic infection. We all test three times a week now, Sun, Weds, Fri.

For my dc’s school you test twice weekly and upload the results but then have to also upload to the school as well, they then phone you up if you forget and lft your dc at school, so there’s no getting out of it. They moved to daily testing this week as high numbers near us.

dementedpixie · 03/12/2021 18:54

Didn't think the school had the authority to ask for individual test results

debbs77 · 03/12/2021 19:24

Just to be clear, we are a large household and we test daily/every two days.

When we caught covid, the child that brought it home only had a tummy ache! The last child to get it didn't have a single symptom. So we are mega on the ball with testing.

It is an ongoing battle for us with another family member though who doesn't test at all, and wearing masks etc has been an ongoing battle

@Demented my dc’s secondary school does ask for results, they ask us to record the result on the nhs website then fill in a school form and submit that. Every day! DS has tested positive this week and is asymptomatic so would have missed it otherwise. It’s an independent school, they seem to make their own rules.
