Isolation rules

School have just sent out the newsletter referencing this week's outbreak saying 'the rules have changed slightly and if anyone in your household tests positive you are asked to keep the whole family together to isolate'.

This is not what I have been following all week with my positive child! I have been following the rules off the Gov website - no need to isolate if fully vaccinated and not a suspected Omicron case. I've not done anything more than pop to the shop in mask and hand gel etc, but still.

Have I missed something and been doing it wrong or are the school wrong?

School is wrong - it's only in cases where Omicron variant has been identified.

Could be local council advice. Our schools have had extra restrictions above Government ones all term.

Maybe its just a school thing so that children aren't sent in if there is a positive case in the household

I guess it could be local rules but I can't see that mentioned.

Just glad I have not been breaking the law. I've been really careful as it is, but I did have to get a few things and have no one else to ask.

Yes you can go about your business if double vaxxed. You are right to limit that within reason. I say this from a vaxxed household that all just got covid.
