Walk through testing. What's it like?

Booked Dp a test at local walk through site? Our nearest drive through site wasn't an option today!

What's it like compared to a drive through? Only done a drive through before!

He doesn't have symptoms. He's been a close contact.

I assume it's all cleaned down between each use surely?

The one I took DD to the other day was highly organised. All masks and distancing, hand sanitizer at every step. Taken into a cubicle that had been wiped down, adviser talked her through every step from a distance - very precise instructions to minimise contamination. It felt very safe, whole thing took about 10 minutes.

I find it lots easier than in a cramped car seat. All pretty hygienic, only thing that seemed slightly odd to me was shared hand sanitiser but I’m probably being a bit illogical. One locally is in a marquee and the other is virtually open-air so seems very safe.

I've been to my local one more times than I would like recently,

It's very organised and there is much wiping between customers.

It's also very efficient. I didn't wait at all today.

Thanks all. The walk through centre he is going to today as is actually pretty close to us but we have drove a little further just for drive though before just because we didn't know what to expect at walk through ☺️

They are really good - you walk up to the tent, sanitize your hands, show your QR code through a window, and get waved into a side cubicle with table and mirror.

You carry out the test as usual, turn the "clean" sign on the table to "unclean", wait until someone scans both your QR code and test bar code, then bin the rubbish before leaving the cubicle and dropping the sealed test in a hatch on the way out. You sanitize your hands again, and you are done.

We have done it so many times it takes less than 5 mins now. The results are back in less than 24 hours this week.
