Facial fillers and reaction to Moderna vaccine [Title edited by MNHQ at Op's request]

I had my Moderna booster 2 days ago and yesterday my lower face started itching and I felt a hard lump. I have just woken up and I have large itchy lumps either side of my mouth going down to my chin. Had a google and found that it could be a reaction to fillers which I had 2 years ago. I expect to get hammered for being vain and having fillers but just wondered if anyone else had had similar.

Phone your GP. And maybe change the title of your thread…you think it’s fillers but you are blaming moderna?

Alconleigh · 03/12/2021 09:15

That is on the list of side effects that you get with the Moderna jab. I remember it as I was contemplating fillers at the time. Although I thought it was more an issue if they were recent, not years ago.

I’m not blaming Moderna, it’s just a reaction that can happen with that particular vaccine if you have had fillers. It’s gone down a lot now thank goodness.

Aren't fillers supposed to last 6-12months?

Delatron · 03/12/2021 19:46

I know when I was due to have profhilo I had to move it as I’d just been vaccinated and there has been reports of reactions with fillers for some people. But I only needed a 3 week gap.

Would they still be in your face after 2 years?

Axlcat · 03/12/2021 19:47

My aesthetician said she wouldn’t let me have fillers into we had properly observed and knew more about possible reactions to covid / vaccinations as there was a risk of developing a severe reaction.

I don’t know but it’s the only thing I can think it would be.
