Negative pcr after positive LF?

Hello, Is this a thing? DC1 had positive PCR result after school requested the year group get tested. No symptoms.

We all did LF and mine came back also positive. A faint line but definitely two lines on the test.

I booked a pcr and have isolated, assuming given i have a positive child, and a positive LF I am very likely positive. I also had a banging headache and zero energy!

However, my pcr has come back negative. My headache has cleared (I do suffer from migraine headache so could have been a coincidence)

Work now expect me in given the negative result but I feel it's all a bit odd, particularly the positive LF results.

Any thoughts? Does a very faint line mean anything?

False positives on LF are common
Apple juice can produce a positive LF

PCR more likely to be the reliable result

Mine and DC lateral flows both with 2 lines (we LF DC even though his positive was confirmed by PCR purely out of interest!)

This has recently happened to a friend. She had a positive lft as did her parter and child. Negative pcr but then developed all the symtoms and was really poorly. Still positive lft, 2 more negative pcrs. Husband and child positive pcrs. Go figure! Very strange. She isolated anyway but luckily works from home.

That's interesting @User65412 my LF are now negative so really does seem like a false positive! Your friend definitely sounds like she had it.
