Getting COVID after booster

My DDad had his booster last Friday. Had a day on Monday of feeling sneezy and coldy but felt better by the evening. Did a LF test today (thurs) just as a routine and has tested positive. No symptoms at all. Do you think that means he was positive without realising when he had his booster? Could this cause any issues? Obv he's now isolating etc.

He really needs a PCR test to confirm. If this does confirm he has covid then his isolation period should start on Monday from when he first had symptoms. I have read that those who have caught covid after booster, the symptoms have been mild and over in a couple of days, so let’s hope that’s the case with your DF.

He needs a pcr. The booster doesn't give immediate protection it takes a week or 2 before its fully working.

PCRs don’t confirm - they just make sure he is added into the govt statistics and test & trace. With a positive lateral flow test he has around a 998 in 1000 chance of having Covid, I.e. he has it.

I don’t know whether having Covid when he had the booster will cause your Dad any problems. I wouldn’t think so though. I hope he gets well soon.
