Which have you used recently that were not expensive and arrived promptly? I'm totally confused by the government approved list
Thanks

I think it is all a bit up in the air at the moment and the dust needs to settle.

From October is was OK to use LFTS (much cheaper). and there was a corresponding drop in the demand for PCR tests.

Nobody is going to want to isolate for weeks so there is enormous pressure to have a system that can offer rapid results (at a cost!) This becomes more pressing over the Christmas period when people travelling from abroad may only be in the UK for 3 days and are required to spend the majority of that in isolation making it fairly pointless to travel in the first place.

Are you travelling soon? Depending on where you are going, there are a number of FB pages with helpful recommendations.

Watching with interest!

DD1 arrives home from the US on the 18th, then we are all flying to Ireland on the 22nd (now need tests to travel there), so I'm trying to work out if her Day 2 test can be used for the travel to Ireland as well. But I have no clue if they are the same type needed. Head is slowly melting......

Do you need it imminently? Are you testing at home and sending it off? Or testing in clinic?

Thanks all!
I booked one with U.K. health kits just because I was worried about running out of time. It's for someone who is travelling in Friday so needed to order it for the Passenger form. It was £49

According to The Times this morning WHICH just did a test on the testing companies and only recommended 4 out of the entire govt list. These were Source Bioscience (£60), Testing for All (£48), Eurofins (£54.90 ) and Rainbow Labs (£54). Accurate pricing, returns by Royal Mail rather than company Dropbox, good customer service òn refunds etc.
We used Simply Test Me the week before last and they were excellent and cheap but that was for LFT rather than the now required PCR.
Hope this helps.

Thanks @fussychica that's useful.

I’ve always used oncologica (45£) and they were very reliable. I’m now fuming at Expert medical (20£) because they’re scammers, the kit has not even been handed to the courier so surely it’ll not arrive tomorrow for day2, and I’ll have to go and find someone else before I can leave quarantine. Avoid! (It was recommended by a colleague, silly me who changed from oncologica…)
