How long for PCR results?

DS 13 tested positive on a LFT test on Sunday night. We've all tested negative thankfully.
He did his PCR test yesterday morning and we posted it back, anyone have any idea how long results will take? He also did another rapid test yesterday which was also positive so I'm pretty certain he has it.

Tested yesterday 8am and heard nothing so far. We have no idea if ds has it or not

Sleepyblueocean · 01/12/2021 10:46

Ds did a postal one a couple of weeks ago that took 24 hours from arriving at destination. The one he had in the summer took 48 hours.

Thank you, still waiting... Keep refreshing my emails etc but nothing yet.

I tested +ve on LFT 6am Monday (& again in the evening). Drive through PCR at 10am Monday, results of that came through 8am Tuesday. Positive, no surprises.

We did one for my DS on Sunday morning. We got the results Monday afternoon.

choosername1234 · 01/12/2021 17:47

16 hours from swab at mobile centre to results

RuthW · 01/12/2021 17:58

I know someone who did a postal one which took nearly a week.

Why don't you just go to a drive/ walk in?

TheSnowyOwl · 01/12/2021 18:03

Postal results seem to be three or four days from the day of posting. Drive thru ones we’ve done recently have been just over 12 hours.

Rajono · 09/12/2021 19:49

Any news on the results yet? I posted one today so I'm in the waiting game now

sociallydistained · 09/12/2021 22:27

Also posted one yesterday. I’ve done plenty of drive thrus that have been less than 24 hours so not used to the wait.

MrsBlondie · 09/12/2021 22:30

Postal ones - 2 days here.

Rajono · 11/12/2021 19:07

Had my results today at 5pm, so 2 days after I posted
