Pregnant NHS worker

I'm 11 weeks pregnant and extremely anxious, more so as one of my parents is immunocompromised and I'm their support system.

I work in a patient facing role, both Covid and non Covid patients.

I've had a RA done but I feel a bit let down by it.

I've been told I'm safe to work until 36 weeks but I don't feel this is safe to do so. Especially with the Scottish CMO saying there is still a higher risk after 28 weeks.

Has anyone been in a similar position and managed to argue their point successfully?

Thanks

Have you been vaccinated? If not there is still time. You are also presumably wearing PPE.

If you're not happy with the risk assessment I suggest seeking advice from your union.

(Not in a union? Join one! It may not cover you for this, but will support you with pregnancy - and other - issues goign forward.)

What point are you trying to argue? A lot can happen with covid before you are 28 weeks, cases might be a lot lower by then.

NerrSnerr · 30/11/2021 18:43

What do you want to happen? Are you asking for a redeployment to a different area?

unknownscot · 30/11/2021 18:48

Yes I'm vaccinated.

Most other departments within my NHS trust are going into admin duties from 28 weeks, however, my management deems this unnecessary.

I'm aware a lot will change but I'd like to be prepared if things are similar, or worse, than just now.

Pregnant woman are encouraged to be strict with social distancing/restrictions/guidance. I can not social distance in my workplace.

Was just looking for advice.

I've contacted my union but no reply as yet.

Thanks
