Boosters at walk in centres

Dp thinks that even though you can't book a booster if you're below 40, you can now just walk in to a walk in centre and get it as long as it's been 3 months since your last vaccine.

I doubt this is correct as walk in centres would be overrun very quickly.

Does anyone know and can provide a link please?

I tried today. I'm over 40 and it's five and a half months since my second jab, but they said I had to wait until the gap of 3 months is rolled out online (ie you have to wait until you are able to book before just attending a walk-in). I'm due to fly in two weeks so desperately want my booster before I go (hence why I tried but to no avail ☹)

No he won’t get it, I had mine last week I am 60 and it was 3 days before the exact 6 month gap. They did give it, but I had to read a disclaimer that I was having it earlier than the recommended time. They will really need a lot more vaccine centres opening to get the numbers that they want to have their boosters. My DH went to a walk in before me and queued outside a church for an hour, the problem was there wasn’t enough seats for people having to wait 15 minutes after having jab.
