Which day am I on?

Advice appreciated!

I tested positive on an LFT last Monday (asymptomatic at that point). Was so surprised I did 3 from different boxes in total - all positive,

Whole family had a PCR on Tuesday - DH and DC tested positive, mine was negative. I have been isolating with them regardless because of positive LFT.

Started to feel ill on Saturday so had another PCR yesterday which was positive.

Do I need to restart my isolation? Or do I do 10 days from day after first positive LFT and assume first PCR was incorrect?

Thanks!

That's a tricky one! If it's legally the pcr then Saturday is day zero, so today is day 2. I hope someone else has better knowledge...

Thanks for replying!

No one seems to know. Official guidelines say from first positive test or when symptoms started.

LFTs were 100% positive. Dr friend says I had the virus on Tuesday when I did them, no question (unless am some sort of medical marvel Grin )

I don’t want to have to restart isolation because I didn’t poke the stick far enough up my nose last Tuesday Blush

Should add - have had headache and fatigue all last week which I assumed was symptom (but symptom of covid or symptom of being stuck at home with DC and DH…🧐)

I am very confused with these timings too. So I got symptoms last Sunday, had quite a late PCR as Lft's were showing negative up until the end of the week, so thought it was an awful cold. Went and had PCR came back positive. Tomorrow should technically be my last day of isolation as it states 10 days from when symptoms started yet they are telling me my last day is Saturday 4th Dec, not happy as I've actually been isolating since I first got symptoms and am now testing negative. Absolutely infuriating that I've isolated all this time and they've added extra time on.

If you download the app (I had to redownload as I'd previously deleted it!) and report the positive result, it asks you first day of symptoms and then correspondingly tells you when your isolation period is up.
The thing that I hadn't realised was first day of symptoms (or first day of positive test if no symptoms) is actually day zero, THEN the ten day count begins.
Hope you feel better soon.

Sorry just realised that you'd said you were asymptomatic when you got the pos LFs, should have read that more closely.
It's hard too because the headache/fatigue probably was a symptom but it's not one of the three official ones is it?! With me I had headache/fatigue first, then coughing and kids were positive, I then tested positive a day or so later... I counted from the day I had started coughing even though the fatigue and generally not feeling great had been coming on for a few days before that.

I decided to err on the side of caution and start with day 1 of isolation as the day after the PCR. It means I will have been at home for over 2 weeks but better safe than sorry!
