ATG Ambassador Group theatres are checking covid passes on entry, yes.

AppleKatie · 28/11/2021 20:06

Each theatre/group has its own policy you need to check specifically where you are going.

I had to show evidence of a negative LFT for a gig in Scotland (the week before Covid passes came in) and my Covid pass for a gig in England the other week. The promoter decides the condition of entry.

Ah ok

Is a letter okay if you don't have a smart phone do you think ?

I'm due at a gig that asks for one on the website but friend went to the same venue (theatre) last week and wasn't asked to show hers. I guess be prepared?

Which gig are you going to? Ticketmaster sent me numerous emails about the requirements for the gigs I went to.
milly74 · 28/11/2021 20:20

Its always best to check, officially no but each venue may have its own rules x

Should be. I'd check with the venue but been to 2 different theatres and letters were accepted and at a football stadium. Its proof in a form and all

Thanks!

Depends on the venue. I went to a gig on Friday that requested vaccination proof but they were happy to just accept my vaccine card.

I went to an ATG theatre recently and although they were asking for Covid passes, when I couldn't instantly get mine up on my phone they offered to just check my temperature instead 🤷‍♀️

bigchris · 28/11/2021 21:08

That's a good idea!

Every one I’ve been to has wanted to see it, yes

ColinTheKoala · 28/11/2021 21:10

I went to a concert earlier this month where they said you had to have one so I took our paper versions but I imagine they decided after the first few people that it wasn't going to work as it's so much faff getting people to get to the right place on the NHS app on their phones!

In September I went to an indoor event where they did check but again I took my paper version. Of course the paper version is acceptable, not everyone has a smartphone.

plinkplinkfizzer · 28/11/2021 21:40

I have a paper copy and to be honest it is much more convenient , I just keep it in cardboard envelope in my bag . Two versions are much better than one . Back up .

Pinkflipflop85 · 28/11/2021 21:52

I've been to the theatre weekly since everything opened up again. Not once have I been asked to show vaccine status.

notacooldad · 28/11/2021 21:54

I've been to 4 gigs in the last week. All websites said you needed a covid pass or tests. Only the Academy at Manchester asked for evidence.

bigchris · 28/11/2021 21:55

Great idea!

I wonder if it's just to scare people

OP posts:
bigchris · 28/11/2021 21:56

If they say you have to have it but don't check

OP posts:
eightlivesdown · 28/11/2021 21:58

Some do, some don't. Check location's website, but best option is to take vaccination proof just in case. And a mask, as some require them, some don't. Rules may change over time, so going prepared for the most stringent rules mean you won't be caught out.

Abracadabra12345 · 28/11/2021 22:03

My friend went to the O2 and it was checked and were pretty strict about it

My daughter went to a venue a few days ago and had to prove she’d done an LFT with a negative test result

KylieKoKo · 29/11/2021 00:30

It varies. In my experience pubs and restaurants don't check but gigs and theatres do. However it's not a thorough check and noone has ever checked that the name on my covid pass matches my ID. I could have had a photo of any random qr code and they wouldn't have known.

Nameisjustaname · 29/11/2021 00:39

I went to the Dominion theatre in London last night. No word of test or pass.
Just had to wear a mask if moving around.
