How long til we know if Omicron is a problem or not?

I (think I) understand that we don’t know how much of a problem it will be because we don’t know:
-How infectious it is
-How severe it is
-How vaccine-escapey it is
-Probably something else

How long does it take for data like this to come out though? I’m trying not to freak myself out about this and just continue being careful and wearing a mask etc and will get my booster at my appointment next weekend. But the not knowing, and not knowing how long I’ll not know - it’s really getting to me.

From what I have read, in about two to three weeks. It is a bit dispiriting. I think the main concern is the greater transmission rate. So far the reported cases seem mild. They are rejigging vaccines to deal with it.
