Did anyone else start covid with something that felt like tonsillitis?
I'm getting tested tomorrow morning (took my baby to be tested today but felt absolutely fine then, and five hours later i'm struggling). I feel exactly like I have tonsillitis - painful, large throat, hot and cold with a temp, exhaustion and nausea.
The baby has a temp and snottiness - coughing only at night with phlegm.
I'm so anxious. I have 2 jabs plus a booster but both DH and I are CEV.

Yes my daughter, sore throat was her first symptom and she was positive. Just going back to school tmrw

Ok thanks. I've done two lateral flows today and both negative but I won't know til I get PCR result I guess.
I hate this stupid virus.

If its any help, we have just had a virus that started with a burning sensation in the throat, bit snotty and bit of a cough but all of us tested negative on pcrs and lateral flows.
As a family we have probably had about 15 viruses that have caused us to test over the last 18 months, and we've always had negative pcrs

Yes, DD had a sore throat for two days before she got a temperature. Negative lateral flow, but positive PCR. She's back to school tomorrow too.

Sore throat was my first symptom, my only symptom really other than tiredness.

Grapewrath · 28/11/2021 18:16

My first symptom was a sore throat and itchy nose like I was getting a cold. This then escalated to a really bad headache and temp. It was over in a few days for me

PeonyRose80 · 28/11/2021 18:23

I have this now, both my kids currently pcr’d and positive mid week but throat and aches and temp yesterday/ today. Done a pcr yesterday but wonder if will have been too early? still awaiting results.

Just over a nasty bout of it. Both myself and DP had sore throats, appalling coughs, lack of taste/smell, breathing difficulties.

YukoandHiro · 28/11/2021 18:45

Oh god I'm quite worried now. Im feeling really awful and have also started coughing a bit too.
DH and I have both had two jabs and a booster but i'm so anxious as we have two children under 5 and no relatives to help if we're hospitalised other than my ageing parents.
We're been so careful throughout but the children go to school and nursery and DH is back in his office twice a week minimum

We are old codgers, DP has COPD so CEV & I have autoimmune prob & we made it luckily. Just take good care of yourself & rest as much as possible. Lots of fluids, paracetamol, fruits/veg, vitamins. I found laying on my front eased the horrible ragged breathing. I hope you'll be just fine.
