Vaccine side effects after 5 days

Looking for advice.

Dd12 had her first Pfizer Monday. Felt ok Tuesday, crappy and achy Weds. Stomach cramps a bit on Friday morning. Today really bad cramps and v loose foul smelling bowels/ wind (sorry tmi).

Is this likely to still be the vaccine or unrelated? Am emetophobic and the upset tummy this evening has sent me off on one.

Thanks

My DD15 had unexplained stomach cramps 7 days after her Pfizer. Also felt a bit nauseous. Subsided after a day or two.

Thank you @SFisnotsimple. That's reassuring. It's so hard to tell, isn't it?

I work at an all girl secondary school, where students got vaccinated on Monday. By Wednesday, we had a few girls coming to our medical room complaining about tummy cramps and feeling sick. Our first aiders thought nothing of it until Thur/Fri came and a lot more girls turned up complaining about very similar things. That's when the office began checking the names against the covid vaccination list and noticed that all these girls were vaccinated on Monday.

What colour are her bowel movements? I’m sure it’s not the case for her, as she had Pfizer, but I was hospitalised with blood loss after AZ. I had very dark, stinky poo. I thought it was a stomach upset but it wasn’t.

That's interesting! So it could well be that. Thank you.

That sounds horrible, Tina. Hope all ok now. Normal colour here!

I have a 12 year old who was vaccinated in September - none of the side effects you describe - however last week (and some of her friends this week ) have had a sickness bug so it maybe a combination of both the bug and the vaccine

DirtyBlonde · 28/11/2021 07:15

Tummy bug going round here too.

That's the trouble with the winter virus season - bugs going round mean you can't easily separate what's from a bug and what isn't

Yes - that was my concern. She's woken up this morning feeling absolutely fine, she says. Will see what happens when she's had some toast... 🤞🏼
