PCR result, over 48 hours???

Posted off my (NHS) PCR test on Thursday morning.

Still no result. Is this normal? I know they say up to 3 days but every other time it’s been roughly 24h…

I waited 4 days for one results.

3 labs in England had to close and they were sending all their tests up to a lab in Glasgow, which was causing some delays and also very stressed staff! I'm not sure if they've opened bad up yet or not.

One of mine took 5 days, another 7 and another never came back. I've had ones that have taken less than 24 hrs tho, & the 7 day wait one was in sept 2020 when waiting times got very long

They seem to be taking ages at the min I have a child who catches every cough possible and school require testing at first they were no more than 24 hours but the last one I done a few weeks ago took 7days and I had to call on day 6 for them to push it

They're really fast at the minute, I got mine back in less than 18 hours. The man at the centre told me to call 119 if it got to 48 hours so I'd do that in your shoes.

Yeah we had 4 days. We rang once it had been 3 and they launched an investigation.

Posted mine Wed morning and got results late last night. Only when I'd put them in the postbox did I realise there wasn't a collection until 5pm....

We took at home PCR's all at the same time in the same post.
2 were 24 hrs, 1 x 36, 1 we are still waiting for 2 weeks later

Still not received results for any of us (4) so 62 hours and counting

I did one last week which took 48 hours. Previous one was back in less than 24.

Still waiting here too which is unusual. Posted back Thursday ready for 4:30 collection. Was delivered Friday morning.

I went to a conference where a large Covid test provider had a stand. He said wherever possible do a PCR at a clinic or walk in. Do not rely on the post and priority post boxes.

Having waited nearly 1 week for a Day 2 test using a post box I would agree with him.
