Pinged but not in the app

Had a message appear on my iPhone saying I was a close contact and I should book a test. It's not visible in the app.

I've booked a PCR but have been working from home all week so am very confused!

Thoughts?

Definitely an app ping rather than a text message?

And you haven't been out of the house / near another person in the last 10 days?

Sounds weird

I think the notifications can be really hard to find afterwards - my DH had one, booked a PCR and then spent ages trying to find it again. We found it in the end but it was somewhere wierd (and the iPhone version was completely different from the Android version).

I'd pay it no attention if you haven't been out all week.

I no longer even have the stupid app. I have only ever had one notification from test and trace of being a close contact. That came after a flight home from Malta and we had been traced via the Passenger Locator Forms when someone who had been on it must have tested positive. We'd already done our day 2 PCR tests, which were negative. Double jabbed too, so no need to isolate anyway.

The app was shit.

My friend got one when she was already isolating through choice and it was due to her neighbours (who she has no contact with) testing positive

Now that you don't have to isolate I think the app is really useful - essentially all it's doing is flagging up that you might have been a close contact but might not know it, and offering you the chance to get a PCR test.
