Isolation question

Tested yesterday, positive result today.
Test and trace say to isolate for 12 days not 10, does anyone know why?

It sounds like they might have made a mistake. They’re not infallible. Have you asked them how they calculated it?

Iusedtobeasister · 25/11/2021 18:52

No I haven’t asked. I deliberately didn’t give my landline only a mobile so they couldn’t bombard me with calls. So far I’ve only had texts from them telling me to isolate up to and including the 5th

Have you tried downloading an isolation certificate? I did that last week so it was crystal clear.

@flowerarrangement that’s giving me the 4th. By my reckoning it should be (midnight on) the 3rd

Ten days from today is midnight on the 4th....

If you test positive, your self-isolation period includes the day your symptoms started (or the day you had the test, if you did not have symptoms) and the next 10 full days.

First day is day zero
Then ten whole days
So you’re allowed out on the 12th day

Frazzled beat me to it. Day zero is the first day, plus ten days after that.
