I've lost the plot with current guidance, please help with what to do;

A party of 40 people on Friday inside.

On Sunday one person tested positive for covid. (A child if it makes a difference).

What does that mean for everyone else in the room? (Other than household contacts who have the clear path to follow).

There were adults (vaccinated and unvaccinated) and children in attendance

If you are in UK fully vaccinated adults, last jab over 2 weeks ago and children under 18 don’t have to isolation, but unvaccinated adults do have to isolate for 10 days.

what2doook · 23/11/2021 06:30

Thank you. Are vaccinated adults required to do any testing?

The recommendation is for close contacts to take a PCR test.

PurpleDaisies · 23/11/2021 07:12

In that situation, unless contacted by test and trace nobody actually has to do anything. Morally it would make sense for everyone to take a pcr and be as careful as they can.

Vaccination status is irrelevant to whether you should test or not. Dh and I both had covid recently double vaxxed. It’s not compulsory to test but the right thing to do.

This is all assuming you are in England. The civid rules are different in differing parts of the country now.

This bit is more explicit:

Agree with Purpledaisies my DS1 was doubled vaxxed. His LFT came back negative twice but GP said PCR when prescribing. Just had cold symptoms. We isolated. DH needed to but I didn’t need to but I did out of concern for others. Small village Primary is rife with it at the moment.Now insisting all pupils in one year go for PCR.

Not surprised you are confused they keep moving the goal posts. Too lax for me. I think we will end up with another lockdown this winter. Hope you are ok.

what2doook · 23/11/2021 08:17

Thanks all, getting PCRs today.

I would get PCR tomorrow (5 days later) and also do daily LFTs.
