False Negative ?

I have had negative tests (both LFT and PCR) but strongly suspect I could have Covid.

Woke up on Fri with horrible taste in mouth and flu like symptoms. Took an LFT (negative) and as I slowly got better thru Fri & Sat expected to wake up feeling fine on Sun.

Instead felt much worse on Sun morning- temperature, coughing like a chain smoker, pounding headache. Went for PCR which was negative but 36 hours later am still feeling awful.

If this isn't Covid, it is a virus that I have never had before. Similar to cold/flu but not quite the same. Not really feeling feverish.

Anyone experienced similar ?

Have you tried more than 1 lateral flow test?

I think trust your instincts and book another PCR. If that one is also negative then it is probably likely that you do have a different virus. Hope you feel better soon.

Book another PCR. You might just have tested too early. Mine and DH's were both negative, but we were sure we had it because our 14-year-old's was positive, so we did another test three days later and that one was positive.
