Feel so poorly, but not covid.

I had covid back at the start of last year before testing was available to everyone. It was all in my sinuses and had an awful cough/lost of taste and smell and just felt horrific.

I now feel the exact same, I haven’t felt this unwell since then. But all my tests are negative. I had my second vaccine last week.

Anyone else got this horrible bug that’s going around?

Yes. Just coming through it now. 2 negative PCRs and several negative lateral flows.
It wiped me out for 10 days.

Same here, I've felt dreadful for the last week. Swollen throat, cough, but of a temp and achy. Ok one minute and terrible again the next!! Not covid either. I think maybe we had so long isolated from others that maybe anything we pick up now is amplified?

I've currently got a bad cough, not Covid. I had Covid 3 months ago and this cough I've got now is worse than when I had Covid!

Yep, viruses have been killing human beings since they were little more than viruses themselves. Not sure why anyone is behaving as though this were a surprise!

Yeah I had it in October really bad cough ,totally wiped out , negative LFT,s and PCR .

I had Covid in September, have still struggling post Covid.

Currently have a cold with a hacking cough (well, presumably it's a cold. Negative LFTs).

My GP said that after Covid I could be more susceptible to colds. I only went out once!

Me! Both DH and I have had negative PCRs but we've been absolutely floored by whatever cold/cough thing we have at the moment. Just a lot going around I guess, it's been constant lurgy house here.

Lots of possibilities. It could be a different virus. It could be a reaction to the vaccine or it could be related to the origin COVID infection.

Actually scrub that. Probably too long ago tobe related to original infection.

It could be another virus, but we know the COVID tests aren't always accurate (particularly self administered), and as well who knows how many other 'lab errors' are occurring.

Add in possibly less detectable mutated strains, and it's very possible that you have Covid again.

Personally, I also wonder whether Covid/some forms of Long Covid does have some kind of latent properties - lying dormant with symptoms flaring up every so often similar to Herpes. I believe this theory was dismissed but given Covid is not only new but potentially also human modified in a lab, I think it might be worth re-exploring.

I was so shocked to get a negative PCR, given how rough I feel and how rife covid is in my work place currently.

Me too, house of sickness here but no covid. Whatever it is, it's grim

No UK lab should be doing single gene PCR to test for Covid. I thought it was all 3 or 5?

I feel shit. Im guessing its just asthma and unfit and a cold but I so want it to stop.
