Had 2 Astra Zeneca vaccines now about to have Pfizer booster - any one had any reactions to having 2 different vaccines?

I had the 2 Astra Zeneca vaccines earlier in the year and am due to have my Pfizer booster next week. Does the fact that the booster is a different product mean there are more likely to be side effects - has anyone had any?

I had a bad reaction to my first AZ dose, was fine after second and Pfizer (very slightly tired).

GoodnightGrandma · 20/11/2021 18:02

Was unwell after my first AZ, not after the second, and not after the Pfizer booster.

Beckert · 20/11/2021 18:04

Not really. A slightly sore arm and my arthritis flared up a bit the next day for one day only. Was fine after that.

Sonex · 20/11/2021 18:06

There are load sof threads on these and load sof people haven't had any reaction. I had 2 AZ, bad side effects after first AZ. socond AZ ok. Third Pfizer nothing at all except minor sore arm.

DH had 2 x AZ and Pfizer booster Wednesday. He was a bit tired Thursday/Friday and arm sore; that's all.

Nordicmom · 20/11/2021 18:08

Hearsay but when I just had a flu shot my nurse asked me which one I had the first time when I mentioned my upcoming booster shot soon and said that after her Astra first she had a bad reaction to phizer and had heard of others too . I had phizer first and no reaction except the sore arm my DH had Astra and felt awful after first shot only

Wtfdoipick · 20/11/2021 18:11

Cold after first AZ, tired after 2nd AZ and tired from the Pfizer booster. Nothing excessive in any case and the Pfizer was probably more due to bad sleep and adrenaline due to nerves as my flu jab had hurt and I was dreading having the booster than a reaction to the booster itself.

1 thing I will say with the AZ I was released straight away but everyone was held in a waiting room for 15minutes following the Pfizer

Changecountetextraordinaire · 20/11/2021 18:16

First two vaccines were AZ - only reaction was a slightly sore arm. Had Pfizer booster with flu jab on Wednesday, again, only a slightly sore arm.

courtshoe · 20/11/2021 18:58

Well
Considering any reaction to the AstraZeneca would likely have occurred within the first 48 hours i or FV receiving the dose, I would suggest that any new reaction to a Pfizer would be entirely coincidental

Topseyt · 20/11/2021 19:01

My vaccines have been 2 x AstraZeneca for my first course and 1 x Pfizer for my winter booster.

No reactions at all to any of them.

VeryQuaintIrene · 20/11/2021 19:40

Johnson and Johnson - nothing, except tired and oddly depressed; Moderna booster - knocked me out for 12 hours or so with fever and chills, but I figure the vaccine was doing its job and my immune system was doing its. Sore arms for all of them but I always get those for every vaccine.

RedCarsGoFaster · 20/11/2021 22:20

I had both AZ earlier in the year. First one, I became unwell about 10hrs post jab - insomnia, shaking, fever, chills, sweats, aches, joint pain etc. A good old fashioned dose of flu is how I'd have described it. It lasted 36hrs. 2nd dose, nothing like a bad, just a mild ache.

I had the Moderna yesterday. Arm hurts like hell, can't raise it comfortably. I've been in bed since 7.30pm, I'm shaky, very cold, headache, very tired but can't sleep etc. I'm hoping it will fuck off soon!

CrocodilesCry · 20/11/2021 22:29

My DF had Pfizer booster after two doses of AZ - no side effects at all.
My DSM had the Pfizer booster but her first two doses were also Pfizer - she had a bit of a headache but otherwise fine.

Angel2702 · 20/11/2021 22:44

I had a very sore arm and swollen lymph nodes for a few days but fine now.

claymodels · 20/11/2021 22:45

Not a reaction to having different vaccines but I did get swollen lymph nodes after the Pfizer.

Erictheavocado · 20/11/2021 22:49

No reaction to my first two, both AZ. Had Pfizer booster and just felt very tired for a couple of days after, that's all.
