Ordered home test kits for DH and I as we’ve both separately been close contacts with covid cases. Did mine yesterday and DH did his today and both returned in priority postbox- but have just realised I didn’t register either of them 🤦‍♀️ Does this mean we won’t get the results? Can I order or book another test or do I need to wait for a period of time?

The barcodes should be on the instruction booklets that you wouldn’t have posted back. Do the registration now or call 119 tomorrow.

And no, you won’t get results without registering.

Lifeispassingby · 20/11/2021 06:16

@Lucythewonderdog you can’t register without the Royal Mail code which is on the box

I’m sure you can - I didn’t register mine but did it after I sent it (IIRC) - I think there’s a code in the email they send you.

Just do another test. Go to a test centre if you can, it's easier and you should get the results a bit quicker than postal ones.

Lifeispassingby · 20/11/2021 06:34

@nachocheese think we will have to- we did the home ones to avoid having to mix unnecessarily. Will call 119 at 7am when they open and then book local test if need be

@citycitycity the first page of registering is the Royal Mail code and you cannot go further without it

For anyone else silly enough to do this, I just rang 119 and spoke to really helpful call handler. She said you used to be able to register without the Royal Mail barcode but now you can’t. She managed to override it and has linked us to our tests so we will receive the results x

Oh that's great, glad they were able to help. Fingers crossed for a quick negative result for you now.
