I lost my senses of taste and smell in September. No other symptoms.
Since then, I keep getting a weird burning cigarette smoke smell in my nose.
I just wondered if this was a COVID thing that others have had or something else.

I have this, my DC started with symptoms at the beginning of the week and I'm now soooo sick with no taste or smell and generic flu symptoms. Negative lft though and waiting for PCR but likely negative as DC negative, I think it's just flu

I've had this after a viral infection I had about 8 years ago!
Every now and then I just randomly smell smoke/burning.

Sorry, I should have been clearer. I had a positive test so definitely had c-19 but I hadn't heard of the cigarette smell for anyone else.
Interesting that you had it after a virus @Devonchills

It's horrid. I wish that it would go away.

Yep. I had covid in October and although around 80% smell and taste came back it then went again and all I could smell was burning. That phase lasted around 3 weeks and now I only get the burning smell occasionally

Look up phantosmia. I have a diminished sense of smell and taste it's nearly been 11 months. (Xmas eve last year I lost my senses and Xmas day last year I took a pcr which came positive) I can't smell coffee but it's not repulsive. Bread makes me gag. I have tried many different ones, with jam or Nutella etc to hide the taste. I have started to get some smells back and it's getting better still about 50% is absent or distorted. My friend got better in 3 months so this varies from person to person too.

Thank you all. It's both annoying and interesting.
Mainly annoying tonight as it is seriously impacting on my enjoyment of my glass of wine.
