Booster 28 days after Covid

I got my positive PCR on 6th November (though started isolating on 4th due to positive LFT) and my isolation ended on 13th November. I was told I have to wait 28 days before getting my booster (which is due) so have booked it for 2nd December. This is 26 days after my PCR but 28 days from when I started isolating. I specifically want it on the earliest possible date as I start Jury service the following week and would rather have had the booster before that.

Does anyone know if the 28 day wait is a rule or advisory?

28 days is a rule and they may check.

I caught it after two jabs and got very ill. Still recovering. I’m grateful I had the jabs to avoid even more serious illness. That’s how vaccines work. I’ll be getting a booster on Tuesday because I do not want it again. I know many people currently catching it for the second or more time.

It’s a rule. You’ll be turned away unless it’s 28 days.

Hopefully you can rebook or find a walk in easily after that.

OP, as you have had Covid so recently, I wouldn't worry too much about getting the booster at the earliest possible moment. You will almost certainly have some immunity still from your infection for at least a couple of months and probably longer.

I'm getting mine 29 days after my positive test result.

I’m not eligible yet but I’ll be getting mine as soon as possible.

Hope you’re all recovered from covid now Flowers

Thanks. This was my understanding too having seen some Drs talking on BBC Breakfast, but when I rang 119 to double check they advised still getting the booster at the earliest opportunity as it's more of a sure thing.
