Can anyone see a second line? DS has just tested - routine. No symptoms. Thanks.

I can see a faint line, sorry 😞
It’s exactly the same as the test DD1 has just done and it definitely looks positive.
DH is recovering from it and I have ot now too.
Hope it isn’t too bad xx

That one you just posted looks negative.

Iggly · 17/11/2021 09:57

You should really have had a PCR - LFTs aren’t accurate and you can get negatives even if positive! Ie it won’t be positive every time even if you have it.

UhOhOops · 17/11/2021 10:12

Fuck me, we're nearly 2 years into this shit show and people are still this obtuse?

Positive lft -> PCR.

As advised on this thread and a million times over since forever. JFC...

PurpleDaisies · 17/11/2021 10:15

It doesn’t matter that this morning’s is negative. He’s had a positive test and needs a pcr. I hope he isn’t in school now.

PurpleDaisies · 17/11/2021 10:15

@wobblywinelover

isolate and then test again tomorrow, then go from there
This is not the procedure. Positive test=isolate and pcr.
VioletBick · 17/11/2021 10:21

@UhOhOops thank you for taking the time to post such a delightful and supportive message. You’ll be relieved to know that my son has already had his PCR this morning and will isolate until he gets the result. My second post was a kind of update, if you will, as a previous poster had suggested a second test. Whilst I appreciate your comments, don’t feel the need to agitate yourself further by replying. Out of interest, how many years are we in to the #bekind movement? Have a great day.

@VioletBick my absolute pleasure. I'm glad that just 72 minutes after you posted this morning's lft you had been able to book and attend a PCR appointment. You should have booked it last night, and not taken random (and so utterly unbelievably incorrect) advice from pp to take another test, as has been incredibly widely recognised for MONTHS now.

I fail to see the link to #bekind without the very obvious connection to #beignorant in this case. I've lost a very good friend to covid recently, I'm sure her 3 dc would love to hear how so many people are still, STILL, so blind to the protocol. You test routinely - as do millions of households across the world, but what's the point if you're not going to follow the procedure if it comes back positive?

I'm sorry you are going through the uncertainty of a positive lft, and that your son is in limbo at the moment until the results are in. Also I hope that the result is negative so you can get on with your lives. But please, no more of this. Everyone knows the protocol. Don't make a post like this asking for advice, fail to follow said advice, then be horrified when you get called on your actions.
