Forgot to put PCR test tube in biohazard before posting

I had to do a pcr test on my child this afternoon.
It was all really stressful and, in the chaos, I packaged the tube containing the swab stick into the normal bag provided that has the same kind of fastening as those sandwich bags. It was provided in the PCR testing kit.
I place the bar code sticker onto that bag after fastening the tube into it then rushed out to the postbox to send it back.
When I got home, I realised I hadn't used the biohazard bag. I should have put the sandwich type bag inside the biohazard bag but forget to do this in all the stress earlier.
Would the test still be accepted? Anyone else made this mistake?

It will be fine, don't worry.

I don't think it will matter. The bag is just to protect it with it being biohazard. You've still sent the sample so i would of thought they will still test it.

I did this once and it was still processed fine. You’ll know either way soon enough!

Probably it will be processed fine. The biohazard is to protect people handling the potentially lethal disease. Post office staff etc.

Let’s hope you haven’t got it!!
