Anyone had side effects from the booster?

I had 2 x AZ. I was in bed for 2 days after the first one, right as rain after the second.

Have my booster booked in a couple of weeks, the Friday before a very busy weekend. Did anyone in a similar situation have any bad side effects? Wondering if I should push it back a couple of days.

I was bad for a day or two, after my first AZ and then fine after my second. The booster (Pfizer) floored me completely.

TheNoonBell · 15/11/2021 20:53

I would wait until after the busy weekend. They do recommend not doing anything too strenuous for a week or so after having the clotshot.

Starlightstarbright1 · 15/11/2021 20:55

I was very ill with Az
Mildly ill second Az
Booster pfsier feel tired and really achy like my bones ache. Still feel ill tonight - had it Saturday and paracetamol seems to manage it.

AnnPerkins · 15/11/2021 20:56

I had same experience as you with the two AZ. Had Moderna booster last week and felt rough fir a couple of days. I still have a horribly itchy rash on my neck, face, chest and back (normal for me if I have a cold or virus).

So yes, if you have plans I would push it back.

Ladyface · 15/11/2021 20:57

I had flu-like symptoms for 24 hours after the first AZ, nothing with the second and my booster was Pfizer and I’ve had no side effects

Radyward · 15/11/2021 20:57

It was the next day i became a bit fluey. Sore arm ,headache that nurofen couldnt kill and felt rubbish. Fine now 3 days after .its not nice !!

DGFB · 15/11/2021 20:58

Just wanted to come on to encourage you all to have them. I pushed mine back as busy but caught Covid and suffered quite badly with it. Horrendous symptoms and felt poorly. Boosters don’t 100% protect you against catching it but they must really help

JorisBonson · 15/11/2021 20:58

Thanks all. Have a gig and an annual long standing Christmas party (that obviously didn't happen last year) and I don't want to miss either! I'll push it back a few days 👍

(I hope it's not as bad as the first one 😭).

I was ill for both az, had moderna booster on Friday. Headache nausea and hot swollen painful arm. It's starting to ease now tho. On the plus side I've slept lovely 🤣

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 15/11/2021 21:00

I am getting my booster tomorrow-

Had 2 Pfizer and felt a bit rubbish after second but ok.

Am nervous now-meant to be going to a wedding on thursday...

Paddingtonsmarmlade · 15/11/2021 21:00

I had az for the first 2 had what felt like bad flu for first one for 48h and had a high fever too. Second one I felt a bit yuck and headache.

Just had moderna booster Sunday morning and have a sore arm and am a bit tired from waking up everytime I rolled on to my arm in the night but that’s it. So get it in your non dominant arm.

JorisBonson · 15/11/2021 21:01

Pushed back 3 days 👍

Dizziness and awful period. Happened with all 3 of them

JorisBonson · 15/11/2021 21:04

@GrowThroughWhatYouGoThrough I had awful periods too! And I don't usually have them fill stop!

Had flu like symptoms and dizziness. I was at the vets the next day getting my dogs their boosters and I collapsed. My oh had to drive me back home and I was vomiting in the car. Later that night I was hallucinating. Luckily the symptoms completely disappeared after 3 days. I’ll never have another one

gettingolderbutcooler · 15/11/2021 22:08

None.

ilovebagpuss · 15/11/2021 22:27

Booster gave me a slight sore arm but a neck ache and felt a bit off colour still worked etc. Fine next day

SinisterBumFacedCat · 15/11/2021 23:00

I had my booster and flu jab same time, I asked them to put the one that was more likely to be painful in my right arm, so they put the booster in my right. Guess which arm ached? Yes, the flu jab in the left!

4 weeks later my house has been hit by COVID and so far I am the only one still ok (fingers crossed). It’s worth having.

rooarsome · 15/11/2021 23:12

AZ 1. Very poorly. Took me about a week to feel right again
AZ 2. Absolutely fine.
Pfizer booster. Headache, sore arm and very tired, but not generally unwell

Axlcat · 15/11/2021 23:23

Booster Saturday morning just gone. Extreme dizziness almost like vertigo and headache and fatigue Sunday and needed a rest day. Just about better this evening but haven’t been great today. I’d say don’t plan anything for a couple of days after. First 2 Pfizer didn’t react as badly.

mumsiedarlingrevolta · 17/11/2021 16:37

Had my pfizer booster yesterday.

Very shivery and tired yesterday evening.
Woke this am with bad headache, nauseous and still achey and shivery.

Not terrible-walked the dog and had a quiet day but went about fairly normal ish day-waitrose, laundry etc but def not feeling brilliant.

Also-interestingly my fitbit resting heart rate shot up this am so my body def thinks it is dealing with something!

I'd still 100% have it again!!!!

PurplePumpkinDream · 17/11/2021 18:49

@mumsiedarlingrevolta Same here had my Pfizer booster yesterday and felt the same as you, even the fast heart rate this morning!

2bazookas · 17/11/2021 18:53

We had absolutely no problems at all after our pfizer boosters. By bedtime my arm was slightly tender; by morning that had gone.
