Periods after vaccine

This is TMI, sorry, but I need advice/reassurance.

I know there have been thousands of reports about menstrual changes after the vaccine. I was just wondering if anyone had had an experience like mine and, if so, how long did it take for your cycle to go back to normal? If it has at all!

I had my second dose on 29th September which was the last day of my period. I had a few days with no bleeding and then it started again on the 7th October right through to 22nd October. Again a few days with only light bleeding and then it started up properly 29th October and is still going, not stopping at all.

I have often struggled with a heavy flow (emptying mooncup and changing a nighttime pad every 60-90 minutes) but it would usually taper off by the 4th day. Now it is just non-stop. It's affecting all aspects of my life. I'm exhausted and miserable, constant cramps etc. Having to go to the loo every hour is affecting my work.

So can I expect it to go back to normal? If it even will :(

Hi. I've just seen this (haven't checked the covid boards for a while)
There are older posts on here about periods if you search them.
My period after my second jab took 12 weeks to arrive & when it did it was horrendous. Heavy, painful, awful in general. And it went on & on & on... Eventually stopped, 2 days & I reported it on the yellow card scheme.. then it started again, it was a bit like that for a while, sorry to tell you.

But that's just my story & I'm now almost 6 months past the 2nd dose & my last period was completely normal so there is hope!

Sending youFlowers&Cake
& a big hug. It's horrendous isn't it, it really does affect everything, bleeding like that, doesn't itSad I hope you are ok.x

That's good to know it eventually returned back to normal even if it did take a long time. I'm just so frustrated by it all.

Thank you! :)

I hear your frustration! Hopefully yours will soon be back to normal (then you get weeks where you are waiting for it to start again!)

I had my booster last month and a few days after I started spotting, my period wasn't due and it lasted on and off until my next period. It's stopped now but keep getting random cramps

Mine still aren't normal and my second vax was back in July. I'm starting to wonder if they are permanently messed up now. Just started a period today unexpectedly on day 15!

On the plus side, I didnt catch covid when my kid had it last month. Hoping it holds strong now the other kid has covid!

Firenight That would make the messed up periods worth it wouldn't it, if the choice was having a normal period but still being susceptible, or having a messed up period but being completely immune!Grin
