Confused about isolation

I thought I knew the rules but now I am doubting myself.

We are in England, DS7 has covid confirmed by a PCR as soon as he got his PCR results we ordered them then for me and DH.

While we are waiting for the results I have now got symptoms and a positive lateral flow so I am isolating too. DH is still negative, taking daily lateral flows, so he is allowed out right? He is double jabbed.

When I spoke to T&T they said that as long as we were negative we didn’t need to isolate as double jabbed, but the text I just received says the whole house has to isolate.

I am so confused, to be fair DH hasn’t been out anyway until we get the PCR results back just in case but we were hoping he could pop to the shop and grab some bits of a negative result.

If double vaccinated (or under 18) and no Covid symptoms you're free to carry on as normal even whilst awaiting results of a PCR as close contacts.

As you've now developed symptoms you should isolate (and repeat PCR if negative as it may have been done too early).

Your DH can still go out.

The text is generic in a way and tells the whole household to isolate - which you have to do unless you are exempt.
So if double jabbed or under 18.5, you are exempt and don't have to isolate. The texts never mention the exemptions!

The text usually says "... unless you are exempt, you must continue to isolate..." The exempt bit applies to dh because he is double jabbed. It's easy to get confused.

Thanks, that’s what I thought, for some reason the exempt bit is not in the most recent text but I found the first one they sent and that one does.

Might send the DH out tonight while he is negative and symptom free just in case.
