Is isolation from positive LFT or positive PCR

DS has just got a positive LFT.

Sent off for a PCR. Will his isolation start from today? So end in 10 days or will it start from the day he gets his PCR back?

He's already asking when he can go back to school :(

Should be from positive LFT. Could you not have taken him for a PCR rather than getting one in the post?

Although LFT date is day 0 and its 10 full days isolation after that.

We don't drive so would have to get public transport (bus or taxi) which obviously isn't a good idea.

It's too far to walk when he's not feeling good, nearest centre is 3 miles away.

Fair enough. Hope he doesn't have a bad time with it

Thanks

Depends on whether he has symptoms or not, if he does then isolation will start from the day after symptoms started, if no symptoms then isolation will start day 1 after PCR result, but test and trace will contact you or or DC to determine exact isolation dates.
