Hey probably been asked before but I can’t find it so apologies if it has!
So my 3 nearly 4 year old had a temp yesterday and really tired so did a lateral flow and positive. He’s got a pcr booked for this morning just to confirm but looking likely his got COVID.
So I definitely can’t distance from him as he needs cuddles and sharing bed! I think he’s 8 month old brother has it too but he os being breastfed so hoping that helps. I’m I destined to get it? If anyone had the same situation how soon did u get it as I’m testing negative so far and I’m double jabbed with Pfizer .

My 4 year old had it. She coughed all over me for days, loads of hugs, her dad slept in her room while she was sick, neither her dad or I got it. He's double jabbed with Pfizer, me with Astra Zeneca.

Thankyou so much for your reply! I just feel I’m waiting for it to happen but that gives me some reassurance!

There doesn't seem to be much rhyme or reason. My 4 and 1 year old got it and gave it to me but not my husband.
They were both complete germ bags with it, snotty, sneezing, coughing. At one point my one year old picked her nose and then stuck her finger in my DH's mouth. DH still didn't get it.

It’s strange isn’t it? How soon did you get it and how did you feel if you don’t mind me asking ?

My three year old got it last December. He has an older brother who he shares a room with (and continued to do so) and a younger sister, plus me and DH. None of us caught it from him, we didn't change any of our behaviours in the house or anything either. Still ate together, wiped his bum etc.

This year me and older DS got it and still none of the others caught it. We did tests both times.

It's not a certainty anyone will catch it. I hope he's ok though.

I should also say that when the three year old got it, neither of me or DH were vaccinated.

He is fine thankyou apart from a temperature and a sniffly nose and a slight cough! He is full of beans this morning, I can honestly say he’s had worse colds! Such a strange virus!

My youngest was sick and went off his food but otherwise was absolutely fine, my eldest had no symptoms at all! We only knew he was positive because I got a positive test and figured we'd best all get tested for school/nursery etc. I didn't ever have a cough or temperature, it's a weird one!

My 5 year old had it a few weeks ago. Coughing all over me, drinking out my cup when I wasn’t looking, wanting hugs in bed as she felt unwell. I had to isolate with her anyway as I work for the nhs so even triple jabbed I wasn’t allowed in work. Neither me nor my husband caught it at all. She had a temperature, blocked nose and a cough that kind of sounded like whooping cough rather than a normal cold cough. There were 22 in her class positive. A lot of them had the same symptoms as her, some of them were vomiting instead. They are all okay now.
