Am I allowed my booster or not?

The nhs website is so hard to understand and appears to keep changing.

DH is CEV

Had the last of my 2 first jabs over 6 months ago.

I’m just under 50.

Looking to get it this weekend as I have a few days off and my last two jabs I was poorly for a few days.

Don’t want to turn up and get turned away. Don’t want to potentially jump the queue either.

What happens if you submit your details online? I’m going by that until I get a text from my GP.

I put my details in and because I’m under 50 it’s says I’m eligible.

Saying that it is still showing DH has eligible, who is over 50. 🤷‍♀️

You’re both eligible online?

x2boys · 12/11/2021 20:27

Phone your GP and ask them?
My dh is 46 but CEV I'm 48 next week I'm classed as a carer we both had our booster a few days ago ,we booked it but there were people just turning up

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 12/11/2021 20:28

Your messages don't appear to make sense, have you made a typo?

PoppityPop · 12/11/2021 20:28

If it says you’re eligible, just book in.

x2boys · 12/11/2021 20:31

If your eligible you should be able to get it they were not turning anyone away in my queue who were apparently eligible.

Perrymenopausal · 12/11/2021 20:46

Sorry for confusion, it’s been a very long week. 🙈

It says in the nhs website we’re both unable to book. Mine because I’m under 50, but DH who is over 50 is also showing as not able to book. When calling 119 they said they would send an email and get it sorted, but nothing changed for a week and DH went to a walk in centre and was vaccinated.

As I understand it U50s are ineligible right now unless specifically renotified. I am in the same boat despite coming up to 6m post last dose. Just hold on until the system gets to you.

greendiva · 12/11/2021 21:32

Online info says you're both eligible.

FredaFox · 12/11/2021 21:49

Don't you have to wait 6 months since your last jab? When did you get number 2? Mine was end of may so I can't get it yet

TwoBlueFish · 12/11/2021 21:59

I’m under 50 and have had my booster due to being a career for DS who is CEV. Are you listed with the GP as your husbands carer?

TwoBlueFish · 12/11/2021 22:00

Posted too soon.

If you’re not a carer then I think you only get it if your husband is immunocomprimised.

benelephant · 12/11/2021 22:03

I got a text off my gp to book in, I booked it online all fine. Turned away at the vaccination centre as I'm not over 50. I've got to contact my gp and go back with proof that I'm eligible 🤷‍♀️.

Cookerhood · 12/11/2021 22:06

Yes you are eligible under 50 if you live in a household of someone immunocompromised. Get your gp to add it to your notes if this is the case. It's not household contacts of CEV people as those people will make antibodies so unless immunocompromised should be protected by their own vaccine. The point of the immunocompromised bit is that they may not mount an immune response so.need those around them to.protect them.

Perrymenopausal · 12/11/2021 22:23

Yes husband is immunocompromised.

There is so much conflicting information online.

NHS says I’m illegible but the criteria for a drop in vaccination says I’m not allowed.

Think I’m best to contact doctors on Monday rather than go and be turned away.

I had similar (DH immunocompromised, I'm under 50). The website was really confusing about eligibility and when I tried to book online it wouldn't let me, but I called GP and they booked me in for a slot 2hrs later 👍
