Has eligibility for booster changed?

Randomly I’ve had a text saying I’m at increased risk of complications of Covid and I am eligible for my booster.

Nothings changed health wise since the initial vaccination… and I was only eligible for the vaccine early because I work in mental health.

Why am I now at increased risk? I will ring the GP tomorrow and ask but have the guidelines changed?

Yep I just got one of those texts today as well.

I was increased risk before though but when I tried to hook there is nothing for a month anyway.

No problem with access for mine. Apparently I could get it done on Saturday if I wanted. I’d just like to know why though before I book it

Did you find out why you were texted? I’ve also just had a text.

I'd book it anyway, but I'd want to know why they think I'm at increased risk.

I am ECV but I know why!

If you had the original vaccine early and therefore due a booster being 6 months after 2nd vaccine, the system may not recognise the difference between those who had it early for job reasons (like you did) and those who had it early for health reasons and just send the same generic text to anyone post 6mth 2nd jab

No I couldn’t get through. Will try again next week!

I’ve had a random text today too!

That’s possible but my dad is elderly and his text was different. It didn’t say anything about him being at increased risk of complications… even though I would argue he is more at risk than I am. Bit befuddled by it to be honest.

@Bordernotboarder and @PotteringAlong do you know any reason you might be at more risk of complications? I genuinely have no idea why I am. I wasn’t ever expecting to have the booster to be honest!

Aren't you eligible because you work in health care?

Itsnotallaboutyoubaby · 12/11/2021 23:09

@Todaywillbegood yes but my husband also does and he hasn’t received a text like that either

I don’t work in healthcare! I’m a teacher.
