I know these questions get asked time and time again! but im confused.

DDs friend as today tested positive, the friends sister tested positive yesterday after a positive LTF on Monday.

I gave DD and her friend a lift home on Saturday, journey was about 30 mins, i had my window open slightly back windows were closed.

Yes

Yes, pcr tests are more sensitive so are more likely to pick up the virus than a LFT. You had contact with the first case in the 48 hours prior to her testing positive and are therefore close contacts and need a pcr. I hope you stay well.

Also a negative pcr only shows that you don’t have covid at the point of testing. Your body could still be incubating the virus and you may become positive in the days after a test. Testing without symptoms as a close contact is different to testing when symptomatic.

If the last contact you had with the child who tested positive was on Saturday, and she tested positive today (without symptoms), no you are not a close contact and don’t need a PCR. Probably a good idea to keep dong LFTs every few days though.
