Contact tracing question

Can anyone confirm what the rules are around isolation and testing if you’re recognised as a close contact of someone who has recently tested positive?

If you are fully vaccinated, do you need to get a PCR or are LFTs enough? I’ve heard two conflicting things and want to make sure I am doing the right thing.

If you are 14 days post 2nd vaccine in England, you do not have to take any tests at all, nor isolate. You probably should, but you cannot be compelled to. It's different in Scotland and Wales where I think you must isolate for the ten days if you don't take a test, and if do you take the pcr you must isolate until the results are in.

It depends where you live.

In Scotland its mandatory to self isolate as a close contact until you've had a negative pcr. If fully vaccinated you can end isolation with the negative result. If not fully vaccinated you stay home.

The rules in england and wales are different to.
