Vaccine for under 12s

Hi can anyone tell me if it is possible to get an under 12 vaccinated in the UK? This is for travel purposes for Christmas (to essentially avoid quarantining on arrival). Would also be interested to know if private options are a possibility. Thank you.

No, not possible. Has it even been licensed in UK for under 12s?

No, and probably won’t be possible for quite a while given that 12-15 year olds are only getting one vaccine, which doesn’t help with international travel either. So for under 12s to get two vaccines doesn’t look likely anytime soon.
Even if it was possible, you wouldn’t be able to get two weeks past a second dose in time for this Christmas anyway would you?

UAE were offering tourists free vaccines but don't know if that extends to under 12s (they're started vaccinating their own under 12s). Obviously that doesn't solve your problem of not wanting to quarantine but it's a possible option for someone very keen to get their younger children vaccinated.

No its not offered to that age group yet in the UK and no there aren't private options to get it either.

Under 18s (12-17yrs) are only being offered 1 dose at the moment so they wouldn't be counted as fully vaccinated anyway

My friend in the US just had all of her children vaccinated against Covid, youngest is 5. They only just started doing it there. Second dose 3 weeks later.
It is not even approved yet in the U.K.

Where is it you're going that you need under 12s vaccinated and are there specific vaccines they will accept there? Sinopharm is licensed from 3 but not available in the UK and not accepted everywhere. But if you can afford to travel somewhere where you can get it first it may be an option.
