When did you go back to work after Covid?

Were you ready after the 10 days? Did you have a phrased return? Were you working from home? Still a few days away for me but I’m worried about feeling like I have to push myself then I end up feeling worse

I WFH permanently now so that wasn’t a problem. I took a week off while I was in the initial 10 days as my head felt like it might explode. I went back on day 12 (cos weekend) and I worked very gently. I told my manager I still did not feel well at all but I was well enough to potter lightly & catch up. Luckily I had pre-booked annual leave that week to go visit my in laws so I only had to do 2.5 days anyway!

I'm worrying about this too, due back on Monday. BUT, my partner is 4 days ahead of me and he has improved massively in the last 2 days. I'm hoping the same will happen for me. Although he is working from home sat at a desk, and I'll be back teaching 7 year olds.

I had to do bits & pieces through my isolation - the main / hardest bit was running training for others.

Then straight back at work (am a teacher). The days are fine but I am finding I’m especially exhausted in the evening. And still have a bit of Covid brain fog going on which I find intensely frustrating as usually I’m a very quick thinker!

@TreeLawney - I'm worried about being pissed off with children because I'm exhausted. I have a sensitive class of wee beasts. They are having a torrid time with supply at the moment according to my TA. Next week probably needs to be gentle for all of us.

I went back after 10 days- just felt tired really

HundredMilesAnHour · 09/11/2021 23:32

I've been off for 6 weeks now and was just signed off for a further 3 weeks today. The joys of long Covid. Sad Occupational Health have recommended that when I go back I start with half-days for the first 4-6 weeks. My job is long hours and very high pressure/stressful so there's no possibility of just 'easing back'.

I worked all through it from home. Wasn't really well enough in the first week, but had too much to do so just kept going. I felt OK to go back in the office when my quarantine finished but only just - a couple of days before that, it seemed unimaginable that I would be out and about as usual, but the fatigue suddenly lifted!

but the fatigue suddenly lifted

Yay! Have everything crossed for the same.
