Hi all my dd wasn't well last week as she had a continuous cough, she was testing negative on lft and negative pcr so went back to school. Yesterday she started being abit snotty and coughing again and as my ds was testing on lft for school I tested dd while we had them out and she tested positive so I tested again and it was positive again albeit abit more faint but there. My question is does the line have to be as thick as the control line? Its definitely there and pink and I know a line is a line no matter how faint but does how thick it is matter? Please forgive me for sounding stupid but it's the first positive test I've seen in person so just wanted to check. Also does it matter if the second was fainter than the first a line is still a line right? Pcr is booked and I'm sure the school are not going to be happy she's off again for another pcr but it can't be helped and I will speak with the school tomorrow.

I mean does it matter if the first test is darker than the second test we did.

Nope that's a definite line
School won't be unhappy as that'd be unreasonable - It's the whole point everyone is testing. They can't complain when you do get positive LFTs that you gotta then stay off til get PCRs

Hope she feels better soon And gets to snuggle up warm at home

A line is a line as far as I am aware.

Thankyou for your replies. I wasnt sure how the absences work if waiting on a pcr and we got a letter last week about the school having a low attendance. I suppose I could always send a picture of they need it as proof.
@whereismumhiding3 we will be having lots of snuggles on the sofa..excuse to watch some old Disney movies I think Wink

I have gotten that kind of lines twice (and one totally clear£ and my pcr was negative. No symptoms.

School will be glad you are taking it seriously and getting her tested.

I'm just hoping I'm not doing the pcr too soon and then send her school for her to actually be positive and pass it on. I've ordered a pcr as she won't go to the centre she's too scared so it should come tomorrow.

Yeah that's the sort of line my partner had the morning he got a positive PCR.

Now I'm abit more confused. I've done dd 2 more covid tests very strong dark lines and symtoms so waiting on pcr result I'll be very surprised if its negative. Then yesterday tested ds he had a very faint line but there so I redid the test and it was negative but a line showed after the limit time. Redid the test today and its negative I've ordered another pcr to be safe but if I test him later on today would that give the same result do you think. They don't seems to be getting darker on ds and the negative one threw me. The school seemed to want him in as he's had a negative but I'm not sending him due to dd testing positive and the fact he's had 2 faint positives aswell. Anyone had this and tested positive?
