What should I do about booster?

I got a text with an appointment for a booster. It's at the weekend. I had plans already made for the day. A couple wants me to babysit?

I think the booster is so important. My last vaccine was in February and there was stuff in the news and online about waning immunity. I think the booster is so important.

There is an option to reschedule the vaccine but they do t give me an option to Puck and choose a date or time. I am worried that if I cancel the vaccine booster and reschedule that I might get lost in the system.

Should I cancel my plans that I made if favour of a booster?

Why can't you do both?

BlondieD · 08/11/2021 23:29

Due to locations and timings and bus times. None of it fits well together.

Just book on the online system and choose one.

I’d say your booster takes precedence.

Though, as others say, you ought to be able to easily reschedule online if you really feel you have to.

I'm not in the UK and not dealing with the NHS. I'm in Europe. I'm afraid I will have to take what I am given. The appointment generally suits me except for the plans that I made previously. I would be worried if I cancel and reschedule I might be given a day and time that doesn't suit me for the next time or I might get lost in the system.

In which case, I would hope that the people you were going to babysit for would understand and prioritise your well-being, as I would.
Hope it works out.

Who is this couple and why they want you to babysit? Are they going for dinner (easy to reschedule) or to the theatre ( and paid for tickets already) or to medical appointment or similar?
In general I would cancel my plans and go for booster appointment but in this case the decision would affect others so I would look at bigger picture as well.

The couple is my partners sibling and partner. I don't know what their plans are. I think maybe one will be in work and the other has something on.

You do too, now.
I doubt their “something on” is as important as yours.

I studied bus times and I might be able to fit in the babysitting up to a certain time but I would need to get away then.

Take the vaccine. My friend rescheduled hers as she was busy and got covid!

BlondieD · 09/11/2021 00:16

Is the booster just one jab?

Brittanyspringer,

Thank you. I think it's so important. I will take the booster appointment and cancel my other plans. The booster is so important.

Have all your cold/flu symptoms cleared up now @BlondieD? If they haven't you really shouldn't be going to a vaccination centre where there's likely to be vulnerable people or babysitting.

BlondieD · 09/11/2021 09:32

DavidDevants

My cold has cleared now thank goodness and I hope it stays that way.

I didn't know what to do originally last night when the two clashed together. I thought about it and cancelled the babysitting. I would be mad to cancel the booster appointment when conditions are favourable right now - I don't have any cold symptoms, I don't have flu and I don't have covid and I don't have any covid close contacts. I'm going to go ahead with the booster appointment.
