Dd is 6. Once yesterday she complained her head hurt but didn't mention it again. She was her usual self. Didn't think much of it.

Again, she was okay this morning. Her allergies are particularly bad at the minute and she was a bit snotty - very common for her to be snotty first thing. We've been moving furniture around too which hasn't helped with dust flying around. She had an antihistamine and went off to school.

Picked her up and her ta told us she seemed fine in herself but kept complaining off a headache.

I know headache can be a sign of covid but how common is it for to be the only sign in children? Could it be covid?

Dp has felt a bit meh today today and didn't feel like going to work (he did however go to work as hes not got any of the main three) but just feels a bit headachey which isn't unusual for him as a migraine sufferer but just feels like his eyes are aching and just feeling a bit tired but he is stressed with work.

Me and Ds are all good.

Just do the pcr test. We had test this morning and we got results four hours later.

A headache was the only symptom DS(9) had, so definitely possible.

I'm not saying I won't, just asking for advice. Had results back within 14 hours recently here.

All of my dc started with a head ache. Hope your child feels better soon

Headache was also my child's only symptom. Positive came up instantly on lateral flow. Just quickly do one and then you'll feel better. And if she develops a fever, cough or loss of taste do a PCR instead. Good luck!

Thank you all. The nearest test centre to me shuts at 3pm and later ones are many miles away so will have to wait until tomorrow now anyway 🤨

She did have 2 nasty head bumps at school last week too (2 accident forms, one on Friday) one right on the front of her head so I am hoping it's not covid just a mixture of head bump, allergies or something else.

Thankfully she's very much okay in herself. Come name from school and eaten loads 😅

Have you done a lateral flow test? The new nose only swabs are very good.

Not yet no. She's got sen and not keen on the whole swab thing. I'd rather just do the pcr than have to do it twice!
