Hi everyone. So my children both tested positive for Covid a week ago today. I am vaccinated, had my second jab in September. Since Wednesday I’ve had this odd headache, where every time I’d get up, my head on the left side would start throbbing. Put it down to stress and didn’t think much of it. Headache hasn’t really gone, today it feels a bit worse, and paracetamol isn’t really helping. I popped out for a walk and I felt extremely fatigued and exhausted. No cough, but my throat has felt a bit tickly and I’ve sneezed a bit more than usual. Nose a bit runny today too. Right now I feel so sleepy and I haven’t done much today! I’ve done another lateral flow test (I did one on Wednesday too) and again it has come back negative! I’m so confused! This doesn’t feel like a common cold 🤷🏻‍♀️ I’ve requested a PCR test as I’m due to go back to work this week. Could it be covid despite the negative LFT?

My dc tested positive on pcrs last Monday and Wednesday. They both had positive lfts. I have done a lft every day and they were all negative - even the one this morning which I was doing when my positive pcr test result came through!
I've had a dry throat, achy, slight temp and headache since last night. So I wouldn't rely on a negative lft.

@newnameagain99 how odd!! I’ve heard LFT’s have a high reliability rate but on the other hand I’ve heard that’s not always the case. My children’s LFT’s came up as positive straightaway and then we did PCR’s which were also positive. I haven’t had a temperature- hope you get well soon 💐

I did a home PCR on the Tuesday as my DD had tested +ve. Negative LF on the Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday morning. LF on Thursday afternoon showed positive. PCR results from Tuesday came through on the Thursday eve - positive.

@Mamadothehump sorry to hear that! Have you had any symptoms? Hope you and DD make a speedy recovery.

Thank you, this was a few weeks ago so recovered now. Symptoms not too bad - I felt like I had a head cold and DD had a sore throat for a couple of days. Hope you soon feel better whatever it is!!!

So update- my PCR came back as inconclusive! I started feeling unwell again after feeling okay yesterday, so I did another LFT, and it has come back positive this time!!
