Test and trace requirements

Is it a legal requirement to respond to test and trace when identified as a close contact from someone not in your household if you are double vaccinated? Is it also a legal requirement to take a PCR test in these circumstances if recommended by test and trace?

No legal requirement re recommended test, no, not sure about whether you have to speak to them. Presumably not if you are not the positive person.

You don’t have to do either. They’d only be speaking to you to tell you to get a PCR - which I thought they did by text, unless they haven’t got a mobile number for you.

(Assuming you are in England?)

Yes this is a question about UK test and trace system. So if test and trace advise to get a PCR test is this a legal requirement if double vaccinated or under 18? Thanks

You cant call it the UK test and trace system as we have Test and Protect in Scotland and I'm sure Wales have their own system too.

In Scotland if you are identified as a close contact then you need to take a PCR test to release from isolation
