Just that really. If you've been double vaccinated but tested positive for covid, what were your symptoms and how severe were they?

Started with awful back/shoulder/neck pains Tuesday last week, had fever/chills, intermittent cough.
Symptoms varied from day to day, mostly fatigue and blocked head/cold symptoms. Have lost my taste/smell which makes eating sad. This morning I blended together OJ, fresh pineapple, a massive load of fresh ginger and turmeric. Could I taste it? Could I fuck. The only thing I felt was a slight tingle at the back of my nose.

Day 6 today though and feel I’ve turned a corner, and I know that because I want a glass of wine…

Kangaruby · 07/11/2021 18:14

Triple vaccinated, positive more than a month since booster. Main symptoms- sore head, v runny nose when moved and brain fog. If it wasn't covid I think I would have had 3 days off work. It wasn't too bad but worse than I thought after 3 vaccinations

Theforest · 07/11/2021 18:18

Strange tight headache first. Then stuffy and runny nose. Then an intermittent cough.

DS15 just slight cough and not eating second helpings all of a sudden.

UnbeatenMum · 07/11/2021 18:31

A dry cough and tiredness.

PlugUgly1980 · 07/11/2021 19:23

Runny, itchy nose for a couple of days, mild headache and on afternoon of a raised temperature. Some muscle aches. Didn't stop me doing anything including exercise. Had far worse colds /chest infections as an asthmatic. No cough or chest symptoms at all.

nellly · 07/11/2021 19:25

Mild headache and sore throat. Occasional
Cough but nothing else really. Barely would have noticed it in pre Covid times

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 07/11/2021 19:26

Savage coughing (like, making me pee and puke coughing).
Runny nose.
Headache.
Basically a savage cold.

I’ve had other illnesses and been a LOT worse (pneumonia and ear infections) so it wasn’t too bad in the grand scheme of things.

Still feel the tiredness though. Am wiped out a lot of the time. It’s been nearly three months and I’m still wheezing.

Day 0 - headache and random achey left leg.

Day 1 - positive LFT, positive PCR at 8am. Felt fine. Hit by a metaphorical bus by lunchtime. Sweaty, shivery, freezing cold, massive headache, leg ache by evening, generally slack-jawed and exhausted. Already starting to lose taste and smell.

Day 2 - woke up feeling sort of OK, but dizzy, headachey and leg achey within a couple of hours. Headache was really bad. Slack-jawed, brain fuzz and tired. Afternoon worse than morning again. Can only taste really salty things - salt and vinegar crisps and marmite rice cakes are the way forward.

Day 3 - same as above, not much better, definitely feeling happier in the morning than in the evening - cough started. Brain fuzz.

Day 4 (today) cough really bad in the morning, better as the day has gone on, cut up a swede at lunchtime, had to have a lie down afterwards. Even less sense of taste today, if that's possible. Latterly starting to feel less brain fuzzy - bit of clarity, but only when I'm sitting down.

I haven't taken to my bed, and am sleeping normal hours at night, but definitely enjoying hardcore sofa action.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 07/11/2021 19:29

I'm a teacher and would probably have taken drugs and gone to work if it wasn't covid.

Willyoujustbequiet · 09/11/2021 00:47

Blocked then streaming and itchy nose. Flu like aches for 2 days but mainly all nasal symptoms.

Andoffwego · 09/11/2021 06:09

Pre positive lateral flow - the worst body aches I’ve ever had, to the point that I couldn’t walk or stand, mild cold symptoms

Day of positive lateral flow - still hurting all over, cold symptoms much worse

After positive PCR - congested, runny nose, sneezing, sore throat, wobbly legs, aching everywhere, dry cough that became chesty quickly - coughing up gunk and nearly wetting myself during coughing fits, no smell or taste, no fever but bouts of feeling as though I’ve got one (sore skin, aches and shivery/too hot). Have been in bed for a week, only managing to get up for 1-3 hours per day. It’s been grim and is still in full flow.

HelenaJustina · 09/11/2021 06:22

Cold-y on evening of day 0 and didn’t sleep well, slowly worse on Day 1, felt like proper flu on Day 2 achy tired temperature, felt bit better on Day 3 temp still a bit up and down and taste and smell disappeared, Day 4 onwards felt fine. Taste started returning from Day 7, still no sense of smell (Day 14). Went back to work on Day 13, next working day after isolation ended, feeling okay but tired by the end of the day (busy job and 4DC). Have been for 2 5k runs since isolation ended, slightly slower than normal but managed fine.

Tested because I didn’t feel right and got a text from a colleague saying they were positive. Lateral flow was super faint (you could have argued there was nothing there) but went for PCR anyway so caught it early.

DukeofEarlGrey · 09/11/2021 06:36

Started with a bit of a cough; positive LFT that night and then full blown symptoms followed. Mine have been consistent from Day One - cough, cold symptoms including lots of sneezing, aching body, fatigue. I WFH anyway but haven’t been able to so far. I still consider this getting off lightly and like others wonder what it would have been like if I hadn’t been double backed.

DukeofEarlGrey · 09/11/2021 06:37

Oh yeah, and no smell. I can taste though.

zebrapig · 09/11/2021 06:39

DH is completely asymptomatic. Only found out because DD tested positive on lateral flow after holiday, she also has no symptoms.

disconnecteddrifter · 10/11/2021 08:39

Can anyone help? I felt fine yesterday so long as I stayed in bed. I worked from home. Got the cough, sore throat and blocked nose so took night nurse which was great as I finally slept. But thus morning huge stabbing head pains, shivery and can't get warm with temp of 35.4 still stuffy node, rib pain and I just feel like shit again. Is it normal to get worse before I get better? When will I feel better? X

PurpleDaisies · 10/11/2021 08:46

That’s what happened with me. I felt ok, then felt rubbish, then fine, then felt rubbish again, then started to feel better and now I’m tired but essentially fine. It sounds like that’s a normal pattern for the disease, even though it’s utterly miserable to feel so rotten. Flowers

It’s freedom day for me. I’m tired but apart from that I’m feeling excited about going outside. I was thinking of a walk but most likely I’ll find a coffee shop and read for a while.

Sending good wishes and sympathy to everyone still in the thick of it Flowers

disconnecteddrifter · 10/11/2021 08:59

Ah thank you that's reassuring. I'm on day 4. Hooefulou have a better day tomo x

Rainydays55 · 10/11/2021 10:21

I’m the same, feel fine for a couple of hours then feel crappy again but a different symptom than I had before! All I’m doing is resting, on day 8 today, I’m worried I ll still be feeling rubbish even when I’m allowed out!

disconnecteddrifter · 10/11/2021 10:32

Oh man sounds like you have it bad. I hear you about the new symptoms it's like an advent calendar of doom! Why can someone people be asymptomatic and others not? I'm megs fit! Hooefully you turn a corner asap. I can't keep my eyes open for more that 30 mins at a time today

Rainydays55 · 10/11/2021 10:44

charliebear78 · 10/11/2021 10:51

disconnecteddrifter · 10/11/2021 10:57

@rainydays55 day 4. Thought I was pretty much over it yesterday!

Budapestdreams · 10/11/2021 12:16

First symptom was horrendous frontal headache with eye socket pain, and achy legs

Then cold/flu symptoms

Then nausea, fatigue, dizziness, stomach pains, tingling lips, cough.
