Same!!! I had a call at 8am!!

My "d"h gave out our childrens numbers when filling in the close contact info 🙄 so they're getting calls/texts too.

MrsSquirrel · 07/11/2021 08:49

I have not been answering the phone to them. I don't see how it would help me to speak to someone in a call centre reading from a script.

sofakingcool · 07/11/2021 08:53

Wow DS recently tested positive and we only had the original call and one text midway through isolation

Hellohah · 07/11/2021 08:57

I had my call yesterday.
I'd already told all my contacts that I'd tested positive, so told track n trace that, wished them a good day and hung up.
Talking knackers me out, I'm not answering any more calls

Welshlavalove · 07/11/2021 09:01

What really annoys me is that they still have not contacted my employer whose event me and several other people got it from , no one had been contacted to get the details of who I have been in contact there .

OP posts:
DumplingsAndStew · 07/11/2021 09:02

Have you given them the details they need already?

Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 07/11/2021 09:04

They wont do that. It's the details that you give them that means the person gets a text or a call. They dont ring your workplace and ask for everyone at an events details
Needcoffeecoffeecoffee · 07/11/2021 09:06

If you've completed the original questionnaire then the others will be follow up calls. Just say you are too ill to receive them ask them to put a note on your file and it should stop them

Arcadia · 07/11/2021 09:07

Can you turn your phone off overnight or have it on silent?

Maverickess · 07/11/2021 09:18

I got this too, drove me mad, I was coughing up a lung, temp of 39 and being asked the full postal address of a bloody shop I'd visited, and they acted put out when I said I didn't know it, only it's X shop in X town and like a numpty I'm putting them on speaker and googling it myself to get the fecking postcode, which they could have done probably a lot easier than me at the time!
I'd also had a PCR through work the day before the positive LFT, which also came back positive, but my God they hounded me for another PCR 'to confirm' I'd had it confirmed already with a positive PCR but they wouldn't have it. I rang 119 in the end and spoke to someone sensible who confirmed that no, I didn't need another one.
I also got two lots of texts and calls - one for each test, and two different isolation dates.
Frustrating system to deal with when you're ill!

Etonmessisyum · 07/11/2021 09:21

I had one phone call and one text wasn’t too bad at all. No weird times but I have my phone set so it wouldn’t ring at daft times unless it was family/work

Welshlavalove · 07/11/2021 09:22

Gosh shocked that track and trace won’t contact work , I don’t have people details that I was talking to .

OP posts:
DumplingsAndStew · 07/11/2021 09:27

So have you spoken to them at all and given them any details?

Welshlavalove · 07/11/2021 09:40

Yes on Wednesday they phoned I gave them the details of gym and fact I had been to work and my partners phone number , the only person they contacted was him , despite me being in a HIT session with 2 people they haven’t contacted them or work .

Kangaruby · 07/11/2021 09:46

I had 6 calls in less than 24 hours, no texts or follow ups after, so glad I wasn't that unwell at time. I had given all details but they just wanted to clarify things they already had. It was an absolute pain and 2 of the calls were for nearly an hour.

RuleWithAWoodenFoot · 07/11/2021 09:56

One on the day after PCR. It annoyed me that I was googling Tesco addresses and things. I also forgot to tell them some stuff, so had to phone some friends myself anyway.

Second one just now. Was fine.

I'm 'ill but fine', so not much they can do.

WhoCaresNotMe · 07/11/2021 09:57

I won't have a PCR for symptoms because of this, I would just isolate and tell the very few I would have had contact with myself, I'm retired so am not in the workplace at all or have anything to do with schools so that wouldn't be a problem or am I going away anytime soon

AuntieMarys · 07/11/2021 09:58

What happens if you don't reply???

MrsSquirrel · 07/11/2021 11:01

@AuntieMarys

What happens if you don't reply???
They leave a voicemail. They keep trying. Nothing else has happened to me. I assume they will stop trying after the 10 days are over.
justbananas42 · 07/11/2021 11:11

@AuntieMarys I read on another thread that they can send someone to your house to check you’re in.

middleager · 07/11/2021 11:13

@Needcoffeecoffeecoffee

It doesn't.

When I could barely lift my head off the pillow with Covid to discuss my son's Covid with them, the young male T&T caller threatened to contact my LA if I didn't cooperate and take that call..

AuntieMarys · 07/11/2021 11:15

justbananas dear god.

CouldThisReallyBe · 07/11/2021 11:19

I had the positive PCR email this morning and then got 3 emails in quick succession because I clearly hadn't filled in the questionnaire quick enough for them. On the questionnaire it did ask how you'd like to be contacted and I said 'email'. Does that mean they won't text me? I gave the feedback in the questionnaire that the barrage of emails was harassing when you already feel ill.

wendz86 · 07/11/2021 15:44

My children are on day 7 and day 6 and just had one call when they tested positive and a text on day 6 for both so far .

Anothermuddywalk · 07/11/2021 17:44

They rang yesterday at 8am and asked to speak to my son. Who's 6.. All through the call they kept forgetting that we were talking about a small child, clearly just reading from their script (he can get support if he's unable to work apparently... "and what sort of school does he go to, is it secondary or primary?"). I found it infuriating that I was on my phone Googling addresses of shops etc that we'd been to when they were presumably sat at a laptop and could do it far easier than me. I ended up saying we hadn't been anywhere else as it became so painful (this was their "where have you been that you might have caught it" bit of the call - I wasn't failing to tell them places where we'd had contact, to be clear!).
I think though it was early and they mumbled a lot, that they basically said it was my responsibility to tell people that we'd been in close contact with? They didn't ask for contact details of anyone other than household members, so they couldn't contact other close contacts anyway.
The whole phone call felt slightly like having your rights read to you - lots of scripted "do you understand that you may be fined..." - no humanity about there being ill people involved, and so disjointed that they had no idea that my dh was already positive, so I had to listen the spiel about him needing to isolate as a close contact. I'm going to let ds answer the phone if they call again...
