Hair loss

My hair is falling out and making me miserable.

After a Google search I read this can happen a few months after getting covid due to infection, shock, trauma or medication. I experienced all 4.

Any tips to help my hair become healthy again and stop falling out

I was very ill and in hospital for 10 nights and the trauma continues

How rubbish. I'm still recovering (tested positive a month ago), after being pretty unwell, but no hair loss yet, touch wood. Hopefully it will right itself as you heal. This illness is a complete bastard.

Yes this happened to me too last year. Like you I had suffered trauma, stress as well as the covid infection and the doctor confirmed these as the reason. I had blood tests just to make sure, but they came back clear.

Eventually it stopped falling out but was thin for a while. I did buy hair, skin and nails vitamins but wasn't terribly good at remembering to take them. However a year or so later it seems to have recovered, so try not to worry.

I tied mine back a lot and my friend who had a similar problem wore a sort of headband scarf thing - I thought it looked a bit young for me though.

Im sorry to hear you had such a hard time with covid and had a hospital stay.
I didn't end up having to stay in hospital when I had covid but did need to go and have oxygen, luckily I was able to go home the same day. But I was very ill and had a 1 year old as well so was very stressed at the time and I suffered a scary amount of hair loss a few months after recovering from covid. My hair was coming out in clumps in the shower and it was terrifying. I had quite long hair at the time so I was able to hide it a bit by tying it up but I was so self conscious about it. I started using the ordinary multi peptide serum on my scalp every morning and grow gorgeous hair growth serum on my scalp every evening before bed, using silk pillows and taking vitamin d tablets. within 6 weeks or so I had noticeable hair growth and now it's started to look a lot fuller as it's growing. I've had to cut a lot of hair off as it's grown because with the thicker hair coming in my ends were so straggly. I have long covid and still suffering in other ways, but the hair loss is the one thing that seems to have improved the most. So hopefully that means it can and will improve for you too over time. Best of luck Thanks
