Does anyone know how long it takes for T&T to inform close contacts?

We’ve had close contact with a relative who has since tested positive. They gave T&T our details yesterday (mid morning) but we haven’t been contacted.

We’ve done PCR tests and are waiting results but I’m a bit concerned they haven’t let us know. I’m assuming nobody else on their list has been informed either.

My ds tested positive 2 weeks ago and was never contacted by them!

Mine was within 18 hours, as was my DH- they called to check our vaccination status (both double jabbed). My sister who was in a different Welsh county didnt have a call, but had a text saying she didn't need to isolate thanks to being double vaccinated, so I think it varies!

Why do you need to be contacted by T&T? The positive person has contacted you, you've taken a PCR as precaution, what would be different if you had been informed by T&T instead?
If a positive person has your contact details to give to T&T in the first place surely they would have contacted those they could potentially passed covid onto themselves anyway. What am I missing here?

We've had covid in the house, dd tested positive first. I received a text message about 12 hours later telling me I was a close contact. When I tested positive a few days later dh got a text about 24 hours later

@Wellbythebloodyhell I didn’t need to be told by T&T. Luckily. If I was relying on them to tell me I would have been oblivious! I believed T&T should have told me by now and I wondered what their timeframes are normally.
If they haven’t attempted to contact me, DH or another close contact, It’s safe to assume they haven’t contacted anyone else my relative was in contact with either. If they want every person who tested positive to contact/track down all their close contacts why do T&T contact all positive cases and ask for these details? Why do we need T&T at all by that logic? .

Honestly I've never understood the need for them tbh. It's millions wasted that could have been better spent to help the recovery of this pandemic, its clearly a service not fit for purpose as your circumstance highlights
