Very, very, very tired

We all got Covid over a week ago. Mild symptoms - slight cough, headache etc. We are all feeling fine now but my husband is exhausted - bone tired, which is not like him. Has tried working but after an hour had to go to bed. Feeling foggy headed as well.
Is this normal 7 days later? Anything that helps? Thanks

You just have to rest your way through this bit my lovely.

Keep hydrated, eat if you can. Accept that you're not going to be able to work while this continues.

I remember one of mine wailing "I'm too tired to even watch Netflix!" and I felt just the same.

Don't let anyone sleep round the clock though. They must at least drink and wee at regular intervals.

Thanks. We are doing everything we can but the tiredness..........

How long did it take for the exhaustion to go?

I had this. Lasted about a fortnight. I took vitamins and slept a lot.

SunshineCake1 · 04/11/2021 17:49

I'm afraid it can last for months, the fatigue.

HerRoyalWitchyness · 04/11/2021 17:49

This is me. I've no symptoms other than pure exhaustion and loss of smell/taste.

I just want to sleep the day away. Unfortunately DD and DS2 have no symptoms at all which means opportunity to nap is limited.

I perked up about day 11, thought I was on the mend, and started trying to catch up round the house etc...then ground to a halt pretty quickly, and had another week of the extreme tiredness. I started to be able to do things again about day 18.

(But it's been quicker for others.)

Captainj1 · 04/11/2021 17:50

Meant to add, I slept a lot but it was at night. I worked in the day (WFH) but tried to take it easier than normal. Brain felt foggy but that wore off before the tiredness did.

Thanks everyone. So rest, healthy food, vitamins and fingers crossed.

Yes you will feel very very very tired! It's a nasty virus. Sleeping and resting is all you can do. I felt like that for five weeks, but then recovered.

HesterShaw1 · 04/11/2021 19:13

Take it easy, don't push yourself at all. You'll get there.

TomDaleysCardigan · 04/11/2021 19:15

Post viral fatigue. Listen to what his body tells him - DH thought he felt better around 11 days, over did it and was bedridden for 4 months.
