Positive lateral flow any chance it’s wrong?

I thought there was a faint line on my test this morning, booked myself in for a PCR, came back and thought I’d do another quick lateral flow as I have a sore throat and feel like a cold starting and a line came up straight away 😕, any chance it can be wrong? If it’s correct and I’m positive any tips on what will help over the next few days? For those of you who have tested positive have you tried to keep a distance from those you live with?

Maybe if you've not left 30 mins from eating?

I’ve not eaten yet today and only drank water

No. Statistically far more likely that a negative on the PCR will be a false negative.

I had a faint line a few days ago. Every one since has been negative. Waiting on PCR test results now.

And yes, I kept my distance-moved into the conservatory on an foam bed, used just the downstairs loo and wore a mask going through the house. Chatted happily to the rest of them through the open gap but maintained the distance and none of the others tested positive though I suspect ds got it and tested negative, judging by his ongoing gut problems like mine

Isolate as much as possible from everyone else in your household. Wear a mask if you can’t.

We managed to contain it to one person only.

Everything I've read tells me that false positives on LFTs (if carried out correctly) are vanishingly rare.

BUT my DD was unwell at the weekend and did a clearly positive LFT. Two follow-up PCRs have been negative though, so the LFT must have been a false positive. No idea how that happens. Possible that she had a v mild/brief Covid infection that the PCRs didn't pick up maybe?
